Cancer is referred to as a malignant tumor precisely because it can recur and metastasize. How can we reduce the risk of recurrence and metastasis? The following five points may help you, so be sure to keep them in mind.

First, adjust your lifestyle habits. Avoid staying up late for extended periods, ensure adequate sleep, quit smoking and drinking, and reduce exposure to secondhand smoke. Many patients underestimate the importance of lifestyle habits and only panic when recurrence occurs.

Second, nutrition is more important than exercise for cancer patients. A diet should be rich, balanced, light, and easy to digest. Consuming plenty of fresh vegetables and fruits can help boost immunity. Additionally, limit intake of processed foods high in oil and salt, pickled foods, and grilled items.

Third, balance activity and rest. Ensure sufficient rest while also staying active. As long as your health permits, engage in light activities such as household chores, chatting with friends, or playing badminton.

Fourth, maintain an optimistic mindset. Some patients, after being diagnosed with cancer, constantly sigh, lament their unfair fate, and regret not taking better care of their health, falling into deep self-blame. Such patients are likely to have weakened immunity, providing an opportunity for cancer cells to recur or metastasize. In short, patients should not be overwhelmed by negative emotions and should strive to be the masters of their emotions.

Fifth, actively incorporate traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) for regulation. Many cancer patients become physically weak after treatment. TCM can help mitigate the side effects of radiotherapy and chemotherapy while enhancing overall physical fitness and immunity.
